NSW Autumn Competition 2014

Congratulations Team IMPACT!

Congratulations to all competitors who went to the competition on Sunday. Well done!

Medal Tally:

IMPACT had over 50 competitors compete at the Competition on the weekend and came back winning a total of 61 medals.
  32 Gold: 16 in sparring and 16 for Poomsae
  20 Silver: 13 in sparring and 7 for Poomsae
  9 Bronze: 7 in sparring and 2 in Poomsae

 

Well done to all first time competitors!

It’s always a bit daunting going in a comp for the first time, we hope everyone had fun and have gained a better understanding of how things work.

Standout Competitor of the Day Awards

Standout Poomsae:

Senior – Katarina Pavkovic

Kat has had such a large improvement with accuracy and strength, clearly outperforming her division! Well deserved Kat!

Junior – Harry Costelloe

Harry has shown up consistently in class and it was apparent at the competition, he was prepared and performed very well.  He received compliments from both judges and other clubs.  Good work Harry!


Standout Sparring:

Senior – Keshena Waterford

Kesh had the standout fight of the day, winning by a huge gap.  There was no doubt she would win from the beginning!

Junior – Alex Thompson

Alex has shown consistency at his training and it was shown through his fitness and technique during his fight.  Excellent job Alex


Standout Newcomer Sparring:

Senior – Peter Heslop

One of the older competitors on the day Peter wasn’t too sure about his first fight, but that all went out the window when he stepped on the mat.  With an positive attitude driving him to win gold, Peter was an excellent example for IMPACT members on the day.

Junior – Ethan Sailer

One of the youngest competitors on the day Ethan showed great distance control and technique throughout his fight.  Such a great overall fight!

A special thank you to Master Danny for being our head of team and head coach for the duration of the comp. You have done such an amazing job helping build and mentor our coaches and junior players today.

We would finally like to give a huge thank you to those who organized the event.  Thank you to TKD NSW for holding such a great event where people can come together and show each other how much we have all improved!  Thank you to all of the judges and referees who gave all of our competitors the opportunity to have a fair and honest competition.  Thank you for all of the volunteers who made the event happen!
